Crazy Week and a Baptism (Jujuy) Week 74

Hola Familia y Amigos!

Highlights because I so lost track of time sooorrrrryyyy
1. Milena GOT BAPTIZED ON SATURDAY! She’s a great person and has grown a lot in testimony in these past few weeks! I was here for the very end part but I feel very grateful to have played a small part in her experience! Shes 20 and her boyfriend joined the church about a month ago and now they are both members!
2. Today is Elder Ferreira’s 22nd birthday! We played paddleball (spelled padel here if you want to look it up. It’s different than what you thing it is.)
3. We did splits with the assistants on Tuesday and Elder Ferreira left and I stayed here in our area. I got so lost it’s not even funny… I was ticked haha and Elder Maza (the assistant from Spain) just kept telling me don’t worry about it haha. We were still able to do some good work haha!
4. This week is going to be better yet!
I love you all so much!

Jujuy is pronounced Hoo-Hoo-ee (Jujuy) Week 73

Hola Familia y amigos!

That subject line was for my mom just in case… LOVE YOU MOM!!!
Anyways it’s been a crazy week! Jujuy is really different to be honest but very cool. It’s a lot more traditional in its ways but the people are great. One example: Today I ate llama bbq hahah! It was tasty! I’m definitely not in Tucumán anymore haha! It’s been raining a ton this week but at least that means its not hot haha!
Basically most of the people here are darker skinned, short, and very Bolivian looking. It’s kind of hard to explain what that means but it makes sense, trust me. We are in a ward and have a stake here so it’s a lot bigger. There were about 80 people in church yesterday and Elder Ferreira says that very few people went. The members love to help us and we are having a bunch of success!
Elder Ferreira is great! Very diligent and obedient and I´m learning a ton! We teach quite a lot and I am loving working with the members. He´s from Buenos Aires and he’s ending his mission this transfer! He leaves on the 26th of December poor thing haha.
One cool thing that we did this week was the ward talent show! It was celebrating the Day of the Tradition here in Jujuy so we had to do something like traditional. We sang a song called “La Chacarera del Rancho” by Los Nocheros. Look it up. It did not go well haha!
I’m really happy! Also we have a baptism this Saturday! Her name is Milena and she’s a girlfriend of a recent convert!
Love you guys! Ask questions haha

Transfers! (Jujuy) Week 72

Hey mom sorry I don’t have any time. Like 0.

I’m now a Zone Leader in Jujuy! My companion is Elder Ferreira from Buenos Aires.
It seems pretty cool here but I got here like 40 minutes ago and now we have to go.

I love you all!

Wow! Stuff actually happened! (Famailla, Tucuman) Week 71

Hola Familia y Amigos!

First things first!  I’m gonna anwer my mom’s questions haha
1.  Is it getting hot?
2.  What is your favorite p-day activity?
3.  What do you miss the most about home?
4.  What is the hardest thing about being a missionary?
5.  What is the best thing about being a missionary?
6.  Do you think you have grown in ways you couldn’t/wouldn’t have grown by being on a mission? If so how have you grown?
1. Yes it’s super humid and the temperature is rising. It got to about 36 degrees celsius on Sunday and it will get up to 45!
2. Playing soccer but here it’s really hard because everyone is so far away. My fave is reading the letters haha!
3. I miss my family obvs, but I miss mexican food so dang much I want to die. Also music. I could keep going but it’s not good to be trunky haha
4. It’s hard to give everything when you can’t see the fruits of the labor. It’s a way that God tests our faith but it’s always a hard trial for me.
5. The best thing is that you just are happy. Without getting into a single house or getting yelled at or nobody progresses you just feel so so happy and fulfilled. Sometimes I can’t contain the satisfaction that I feel.
6. YES The Lord is helping me prepare for life. He shows me how to help others through dark dark trials and times of incredible joy because there will be times in my life when I will experience them both. It scares me a little bit but it shows how much my Heavenly Father loves me because he is training me now so that I know what to do later! I really do have an eternal perspective!
This week I went to the Mission Leadership Council! It was great and a very cool meeting. I loved being with the other leaders in the mission and learning from them and from Presidente y Hermana Chaparro! I am soooooo stoked to work with the new Christmas iniciative LIGHTtheWORLD!! (ILUMINAelMUNDO en español). It’s such an incredible thing. We even got to see the video before it is shown to the world!
Elder Rich did great here with the mini missionary. He taught a bunch of lessons and was an overall stud just like I raised him haha! He was really relieved when I came back though haha! It’s hard running things so early in the mission haha!
This is actually my last week with him! This next Monday I’ll know where I’m going and who I’ll be with! I’m excited for a change of scenery!
Oh also we moved apartments today yaaaaaaaaayyyyyyyyy that old place was a dump and the new one is aaaaawwwwweeeeesssssooooommmmeeeee. Now it just needs air conditioning haha!
I love you all!
